Mt Pilatus Golden Round Trip from Lucerne

Lucerne, Switzerland 6 hours 4.5 out of 5 · 1,026 reviews Available

ScenicCable carLake cruise

Overview

Lake steamer, the world's steepest cog railway, then aerial cable cars back down — a circular route up Mt Pilatus using four different vehicles.

The Golden Round Trip is the best-designed half-day in Switzerland: a paddle steamer across Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad, the world's steepest cog railway at a 48% gradient to the summit at 2,132 m, then aerial cable cars and a gondola down the other side to Kriens.

Four vehicles, no backtracking, and a summit terrace looking across to the Bernese Alps. The cog railway runs May to November; in winter the route reverses and uses the cable cars in both directions at a lower price.
